Because Kate watches everything Caroline does and has a "do it myself" personality, she has always wanted to feed herself like big sister. We lasted maybe two months on baby food. Every time I would try to feed her baby food with a spoon, she would lock her lips together and turn her head. It wasn't that she was full, because the girl has an appetite, eating EVERYTHING we put in front of her (so unlike her sister: aka Miss Picky). She just wanted to feed herself and I wasn't ready to give over that much control (or do that much clean up afterwards). Well, until now. We have reached a point where Kate is obsessed with utensils. If I am unloading the dishwasher, she can hear it from a mile away, and comes to grab any and all utensils before I can get them in the drawers. And when we we go to a restaurant, she wants to play with any silverware on the table. I usually just go ahead and ask the waitress for several spoons when we sit down, so that if one drops, we have a spare. :) Yesterday, she walked around the house with a spoon in her hand for an hour. I tell you...the girls loves utensils. So with much patience, I finally let her use a spoon this morning to eat her yogurt.

Two Haircuts
The girls both got haircuts today. This was Kate's 1st haircut, but the third trim for Caroline. Kate was a little hesitant at first, however, Caroline would have stayed at the salon all day. She loved it and didn't want to take the smock off when it was time to go. She kept saying, "Caroline turn again".
Kate's new do!
Checking herself out! Ha!
Loving it!!!!
Watching every cut!
Caroline's new do!
Spring Time Visitors
As always, we had a fun visit with Mamie and River last week. I think the girls had officially worn them out by the time they left. Especially since Caroline is in a "I show you" phase. "Come, I show you my Sally doll", "Come, I show you my room", "Come, I show you my swing", and so on and so on....
Come back soon!

Kate Walking
Notice Caroline wants to make sure she is part of her sister's video too. Does this remind you of any Mom? :)
Tottering and Teeth
Kate has been hesitant to start walking. She started taking a few first steps about a month ago and then a couple weeks ago, she took 7 steps across the kitchen floor. Her hesitancy is probably due to all the face plants she has taken. If fact, she had her first bloody nose last week while trying to walk from a chair to the bed. The bed rail won...ouch! Finally, this week, she decided to put on her game face and off she went. At the beginning of the week she was about 50% walking/50% crawling and today she is almost 95% walking...but we'll say tottering because she is still uneasy. But my favorite part of a toddler learning how to walk, is the squat position right before they stand and take off. The slow, unsteady movement from sitting to standing without holding on to anything. It's so cute, and done with so much concentration.
And these are the best pictures I could get of Katy Bug's mouth. She has finally gotten her two front teeth!
Kate has a total of 6 teeth now!!
And for the grandparents... we had the girls' 1yr. and 2 yr. checkups this week.
CAROLINE:
weight: 27lbs. 8 oz.
height: 34 1/4 in.
(70th percentile)
KATE:
weight: 22lbs. 12oz.
height: 30 3/4 in.
(90th percentile)

Happy Friday!
Because last week was so eventful, this week was just a simple, playing around the house, kind of week!!!
"These things are great Mom!" (Kate looking at her new mode of transportation...feet!)
Wuz Up Dudes!!! I'm walking now!
And because Kate's a big 1 yr old, we're finishing off our last can of this stuff!
Now I'll be buying whole milk for Kate, 2% for Caroline, and skim for the mommy and daddy, BUT it's still cheaper than formula!!! Yea!

Easter 2010
On Saturday, we enjoyed the warm weather while dying some easter eggs with Daddy.
But we only ended up with eight out of twelve eggs because we all enjoyed a hard boiled snack!
And while Daddy and Caroline were busy decorating eggs, Kate and I played with the Cozy Coop.
After the girls went to bed, the Easter Bunny got to hoppin' and set out the baskets of goodies. He left a trail of his cotton tail leading to the baskets (just like GaGa use to do).
After checking out what the Mr. Bunny left, we quickly got dressed for church. Katy-Bug was giving Daddy a run for his money with putting on her slip.
All dressed and with five minutes to spare, the girls rummaged through their goodies again.
Wow! A new Barney DVD!!
Off to church!
After church we had our own personal hunt in the front yard. :) The girls had very differing techniques. Caroline went for quantity, picking up as many as she could, as quickly as she could (and stealing some of Kate's when she wasn't looking). Kate, on the other hand, went for quality and slowly but surely found the GOLDEN EGG!
Then it was off to lunch at Weezie and Grandaddy's house.
And some more hunting...

Spring Blessings
We have lots to celebrate in spring. Our wedding anniversary and both Caroline and Kate's birthdays. This past Tuesday was Caroline's 2nd birthday. And next Monday is Kate's 1st. So while we had all our family together, we decided to celebrate two very special lives!
Caroline's favorite treat... a doughnut with pink icing, sprinkles, and a #2 candle!
Bouncing with her GaGa and PaPa! Look at that smile...she's so happy!!!
Opening a gift from two of her most favorite people...Aunt RaRa and Uncle TT!
I don't think that grin left her face all day!
Kate bouncing with one of her favorite people...Aunt Sarah! She felt like such a big girl.
Much to be expected...Kate LOVED her cake! The girls loves her food.
And Aunt RaRa and Uncle TT were able to watch all the festivities through skype! Plus, it gave the whole family a chance to visit with them as if they were here.
Look at Kate eyeing that tissue paper...her favorite part of the gifts!
We can't believe we have a 2yr. old and 1yr. old already!
